The Sterotypes Within All the Worlds They Create
Welcome back, fellow Outsider fans! This week on Psychology Used in The Outsiders, we will be discussing how stereotypes and their impacts come across in The Outsiders.
In the book, there are three types of people.
There are the Socs, they are cool and unfeeling, they always get "yes" as a response because they are the high class and no one thinks they could ever doing something wrong.
Then the are the Greasers, the main characters, the people we get attached to. They feel the most and get in the most trouble apart of the lower class, who does what is needed to be done to survive.
There is also the Neutral folk, they are the ones who don't participate in fights, they exist away from the drama and are the middle class, and like the middle child, are forgotten.
"That's why we're separated... It's not money, it's feeling-you don't feel anything and we feel too violently..."
It seems like this is just a coming of age book, but it isn't. It shows a world that is still around today. In the Outsiders the world seemed to be run by plutocracy, and the world we live in seems to be no different. The Outsiders isn't just about coming of age, it's about the hidden truth of all worlds.
And with those thoughts in mind I leave you to ponder this third blog on your own. If you want anymore content please leave a comment about what you are looking for. Always remember that no matter what you can always look at the Golden Hues of Life.
I think this is great work, well done. It's always nice when people recognise my book!
